Coat of Arms forthe name of Watty

Watty's - 'Ermine, on a chief gu. three billets (another, engrailed) or'

The Chief is the whole upper part cut off horizontally by a straight partition line and comprise a one third of the escutcheon.

The billet is an oblong square, by some supposed to represent a brick, and by others a letter (envelope).

Engrailed means a line partition. In heraldry the billet in the lower portion of the shield could be of any size, though it was usually drawn to balance or look suitable in a large space.

These bearings are comparatively simple, normally the simpler or plainer the bearings, the more ancient they are. These charges are rare, and the bearings might possibly be quite old.
